Today Blizzard announced the latest Hearthstone expansion Whispers of the Old Gods. Aiming for a late April/early May release, Whispers brings 134 new cards to the game.
From the sample cards that they’ve shown, it appears some of the new entries will be corrupted versions of previous minions. For example, the popular card Antique Healbot has a new variation called Corrupted Healbot. The former Healbot is a 5-mana, 3/3 minion that restores 8 health to the player’s hero when it is played. The new Healbot is also a 5-mana card, but is now boosted to 6/6. The trade off is that on death it will restore 8 health to the enemy hero.
There will also be cards that support each of the four legendary minions included in the new expansion. C’Thun is a 10-mana card that deals 6 damage split across all enemies when it is played. However, other cards can boost the damage output before C’Thun is played potentially leading to a devastating turn 10.
Start saving your gold (or your money, if that’s your thing) to get as many of these new cards when the expansion launches in the next couple months. Keep an eye on Devin Rogers Gaming as we will be providing a video of our booster pack “unboxing.”
